1948 - HUMAN RIGHTS DECLARATION
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) this is my new text was indeed a milestone document in the history of human rights. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948
1956 - FIRST PEACEKEEPING FORCE
In October 1956, the United Nations faced a major crisis. The 1949 General Armistice Agreement between Egypt and have agreed Israel – concluded under the auspices of and supervised by the United Nations – collapsed when Israel and two major Powers occupied large portions of Egyptian territory. The Organization reacted to the crisis with speed and firmness and, to overcome it, conceived a new form of peacekeeping and set up its first peacekeeping force
