The much-anticipated General Debate kicks off on Tuesday. More than 190 world leaders are expected to speak over the coming week – they’re expected to address issues ranging from climate change to humanitarian crises to poverty to the empowerment of women and youth, among many more.

At the outset of the General Debate, the Assembly will reflect on what the Global Goals mean for people all over the world in what is being called an “SDG Moment”.

An event highlighting the Secretary-General’s Action for Peacekeeping (#A4P) initiative will also take place on Tuesday.  It’s designed to the draw attention to both the achievements and challenges of peacekeeping around the world.
