Today kicks of a week of fast-paced action at the United Nations, as leaders from all over the world come to UN Headquarters in New York for the annual General Assembly.
The Nelson Mandela Peace Summit starts things off first thing Monday morning. The focus of the Summit is Global Peace. It’s taking place as the world celebrates 100 years since Nelson Mandela’s birth.

Also Monday, Secretary-General António Guterres will be launching the UN’s Youth Strategy. It’s aimed at giving young people more opportunities to play a part in supporting development and making contributions to peace and security. Use #Youth2030 to follow the conversation on social media.

The Secretary-General will also be launching his plan for Financing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development on Monday. Use #GlobalGoals to take part in the discussion.

The SDG Media Zone will provide another space for social media encounters and conversations.
