Thank you to all who contributed!Good news! The second phase of the United Nations Population Fund’s (UNFPA) Tamale Fistula Centre project has been completely funded. More than 60 text books on English literature, geography, biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics were presented to the management of Sinoe Multilateral High School by the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) in March. As part of the celebrations for International Day of UN Peacekeepers, staff from the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) organized school presentations around Unity state. Thanks to UNMISS for posting this and more on their Facebook page. WHO Headquarters in Geneva is now completely smoke-free! In connection with World No Tobacco Day 2013, the whole WHO campus was made a smoke-free zone, including parking areas, gardens, and all vehicles while on the WHO compound. The move is aimed at preventing exposure to second-hand tobacco smoke and encouraging smokers to quit. Thanks to WHO for posting this and more on their Facebook page.
